The Virtual Guard Loneworker application is a session based mobile application that workers can use to provide a level of cover for them when they are working in environments where they need to work alone or require a level of remote monitoring by their manager in their work. The Virtual Guard app requires a 3G or wifi network connection to operate so should be deployed as part of an overall health and safety strategy to ensure the safety of people working alone. The application includes the following features:
a. No Motion Detection
Includes an advanced "No Motion" mode, Once enabled, this can detect automatically if a worker has not moved for a certain time and will notify the manager with an alarm and GPS location of the worker if they are unable to respond to the no motion alarm within 60 seconds. The user can customize the "No Motion" session as per their requirements.
b. Panic Button
The user can also press the panic button in an emergency and the manager will get an instant notification on their phone and on the Desktop Management Software, with the location of the worker.

c. Lone worker GPS tracked sessions
The user can set the length of the "Lone Worker" session as required. Once the session is started the manager can view where workers are located and will get an instant notification if an alarm is raised by the worker

D. Desktop Management Software
The system also utilizes Desktop Management Software. This software can be used to document Lone Worker Sessions, Incident Reports, GPS history of the worker and Panic Alarms. The software tracks and logs start and end times of the lone worker session and can provide a report per user at the click of a button. When the user has finished a session they need to give a short description of what they did through the voice recording mechanism. This software can also be managed by third party agents in case where the worker needs 24 hour monitoring.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
